Between feeding cycles the circuit is filled with a positioner. The correct feed amount is prepared in the two weighers on the right. This blend is pumped into the circuit and the right amount is dosed out per valve. During the feeding cycle, the positioner is temporarily stored in a separate weigher (on the right). After the feeding cycle, the circuit is refilled with the positioner. No feed is left behind in the circuit for extra hygiene.
There are four similar weaner pig departments. For a good control of the incoming fresh air, ceiling inlets model 220-P are installed above the corridor. In this way he can control the incoming air exactly according to the needs of the growing animals.
In the farrowing department he uses ceiling ventilation with a diffusion roof for a good distribution of the fresh air over the total area without cold air draughts. The heat from the animals will go up and is mixed with the incoming colder fresh air.
The precise level of ventilation is constantly measured and controlled using ATM units. The airflow transmitter continuously measures ventilation in the house. The control valve mounted between the airflow transmitter and fan controls the airflow to the right level.
Timo Keitaanranta has new sow barn with 220 sows. The construction work started in spring 2011 and Timo’s barn was finished in April 2012 . Fancom distributor Farmi Tilatech Oy installed a SmartFix liquid feeding system and F21 climate control to manage the growth process. To control feed costs and to ensure a continuous supply of fresh food, Timo has a home mixing installation to prepare the food for his animals. The feeding process is controlled by a Fancom F78 liquid feed computer and a Buschhoff milling and mixing system.
