Gimranäs a/b Sweden opens new, modern rearer facility
Gimranäs is the Fancom dealer for Sweden. As well as its activities supplying equipment, Gimranäs is also the biggest supplier of one day old chicks for the layer sector in Sweden and Finland. To expand their production capacity, they constructed a completely new farm to house 180,000 rearers.
The new farm numbers four houses. Part of it uses the aviary house system, part of it features enriched cages. This makes the new facility a fine example of the company's range of equipment for poultry houses. The climate is controlled by four F38 poultry computers. Gimranäs opted for ridge ventilation so that good air distribution during the cold periods is guaranteed. For accurate control of the minimum ventilation, three energy efficient i-Fans are used in each house. In addition, 12 extra 1680 fans can be activated in each house.
Bird growth is controlled by a combination of an F41.2 feed computer per two houses and a central 747 animal weighing computer.
The new farm was opened officially during an open day by the Swedish Minster for Agriculture, Mr Eskil Erlandsson. He had particular words of praise for the foresight of the business activities of Gimranäs and the high level of attention paid to animal welfare in the new houses.
