Fancom ambassadors meet in England
Fancom poultry ambassador Rien van den Berg, and Fancom employees Erica Bongers and Fiel Lamber, visited David Speller's poultry farm in England.
Rien van den Berg, as a poultry farmer with progressive ideas, was really keen to see how David Speller, who has been one of the leading lights in the poultry business in the UK for some years, runs his farm. Both farmers use complete Fancom automation systems, including the eYeNamic growth monitor. eYeNamic is a camera system that constantly monitors and records images of the floor of the poultry house. Analysis software translates these images into an index for distribution and activity, both of which are important parameters that indicate the health and welfare levels of the birds. Speller and van den Berg use this new technique to fine tune their management strategy. Any abnormalities are detected and signalled earlier, so taking corrective measures can also be done sooner.
In a very frank dialogue the poultry farmers exchanged some useful information, which should help them to consolidate their leading positions in the broiler industry even further. During this visit both poultry farmers were presented with the Fancom Gold Award in appreciation of their contribution to knowledge exchange with Fancom and its customers.
