Polish sow farmers visit Dutch farms
Farms in the Netherlands are often a benchmark for livestock farmers in other countries. And that also applies to a number of sow producers from Poland with plans to build. Together with their feed supplier and Fancom distributor Hodowca they visited a number of Dutch sow producers.
The CentralFlow ventilation system for central exhaust with air scrubber attracted particular attention. Because of the increasingly stricter Polish legislation this system is a perfect match for their plans in the future. The visitors were very impressed by the accuracy with which the air flow is controlled in the houses and the airy, pleasant climate created for the animals. The ' fresh nose' system was also new to the Polish visitors. This system draws in fresh air through an open duct in the ceiling and directs it close to the head of the sows.
The finisher section at the Kuppen farm in Weert was also a real eye opener. Here the animals are housed in groups and weighed and sorted using the BioSelect sorting station. The first BioSelect has been sold in Poland in the meantime and the first animals are expected in the house in November.
