Feeding systems for pigs

Helping you keep feed costs down

Margins and prices in the pig farming sector are under pressure. Pig producers need solutions that increase the efficiency of their production processes, but without compromising the quality of the end product and animal welfare. As feed costs account for such a large part of the total production costs, this is an aspect that demands critical attention.

A suitable solution for every house

Because every house is different, Fancom offers a range of automatic feeding systems. The key features of these systems are flexibility, reliability and convenience.

IntelliTek sow feeding station

Feeding gestating sows individually

Fancom's Intellitek sow feeding station is designed for group housing of sows. This advanced system allows sows to feed one after another in a specially designed feeding station based on their social ranking. Thanks to advanced individual animal recognition technology, the Intellitek station ensures that each sow is automatically fed the right amount of feed, perfectly tailored to her needs.

Intellitek walk-through feeding station

The Intellitek walk-through station is the most extensive version of the feed station featuring double identification on the pneumatically operated gate and the feeder valve. This system only grants access to the station to animals that are entitled to receive feed. A special selection gate allows sows to be selected when they exit the station. The feeding station is suitable for 60-70 sows and can be used in stable and dynamic groups of sows.

Intellitek back out station

The Intellitek walk-back station is extremely suitable for stable groups where no selection is used. This version of Intellitek is a so-called back out system where the sow leaves the station backwards. The station is always open. A gate tips and closes the station as soon as a sow enters to feed. This creates a safe environment for the sow to eat calmly without being disturbed by other sows. This is a very simple system, without pneumatic control and without a selection gate. This version of Intellitek is suitable for about 20 sows per station.

FaroTek in the farrowing house

Individual feeding in the farrowing house

Our FaroTek is the innovative solution designed to meet the increasing nutritional needs of sows thanks to genetic advances. FaroTek allows you to feed sows several times a day, according to a personalised schedule tailored to each animal's individual needs. This system allows you to dispense feed gradually, which not only optimises milk production without the sow losing too much condition, but also improves digestion. Feed your sows more efficiently with smaller, more frequent portions at the times they need it with FaroTek.

Rondomat piglet feeder

Prevent weaning dip

The Rondomat is a sensor-controlled piglet feeder that helps ensure a smooth post-weaning transition to weaner feed. The weaned piglets are given immediate access to clean, fresh feed without having to learn how to operate a feed trough system. This prevents the dip often experienced by piglets after weaning. The result is piglets in optimal health with good, fast growth. The Rondomat is suitable for use in sections housing up to 70 piglets.

Lumina 71

Multi-phase feeding

For pig farmers seeking optimum flexibility in feed selection, transitions between different feed types and portion sizes per feed trough, the Lumina 71 is the ideal control for the multi-phase feeding system. This system offers unparalleled control over the feeding process, allowing you to provide exactly the right amount and composition of feed at each feeding point, fully tailored to the specific needs of your animals. The composition of the feed can change daily to meet the exact needs of the animals. Transitions are very gradual so that the animals have no trouble with different, new feed.

Efficient transport of feed from silo to trough

To complete your automatic feeding system complete, we supply a wide range of feeding systems for today’s pig producers. Whether you are looking for circular tube feeding systems or straight line auger feeding systems, we offer the best solution for every type of pig house to achieve optimal production results. The feeding systems are made of high quality, durable materials and require little maintenance. The modular construction means that all the components are compatible and enable almost unlimited configurations to create conventionally or automatically controlled feeding systems suitable for every category of pigs.

Spiralling feed prices

The ever-spiralling feed prices are reducing the margins made in pig production. The greatest gains can be made by saving on feed costs. To effectively manage feed costs, it is vital that farmers have a clear insight into the feed consumption on their farms so that improvements can be made.  An efficient, automated feeding process that generates extensive stock registration and data feed intake date is essential. This also saves time and helps to accurately control how much feed is given, as well as ensuring that each animal is automatically fed its feed ration.

Feed according to need

The improved genetic potential of finishers is a trend that producers must take into account. Pigs are increasingly able to efficiently convert their feed into meat. It is therefore important to carefully examine the precise nutritional needs of the animals and feed them a ration that is accurately formulated to achieve optimal technical results. And as soon as possible, switch to cheaper feed with a lower mineral content.  This will not only reduce feed costs, but also prevent the unnecessary excretion of minerals in the manure and urine.

Up-scaling

The scale of farms is continuing to increase, and sometimes one farm is located on multiple sites. This development makes long-term, reliable functioning of feeding systems even more crucial for producers. And they want the security of being alerted in time by the computer that monitors the feeding process if things threaten to go wrong. The quality of the system and ease of operation are also factors that are becoming increasingly important. Only then can users easily adapt the feeding process to suit their individual situation and benefit from ease, time saving and improved technical results.
