New Kardex Machines Optimize Warehouse Process at Fancom

To further improve the picking process for small components such as fasteners, rings, circuit boards, and display screens, Fancom has implemented two Kardex automated storage and retrieval machines in its warehouse. These smart storage systems bring the required parts directly to the operator according to the goods-to-person principle, based on orders from our ERP system.

More efficient, faster, and more ergonomic

The Kardex system represents a major leap in efficiency. Where employees previously had to walk and search for parts, components are now automatically presented at an ergonomic working height. This means:

  • Faster order processing, especially for the components required for control cabinet assembly
  • Reduced risk of picking errors
  • Items are presented at an optimal working height for improved ergonomics and reduced physical strain, minimising the need for reaching, bending, and lifting.

In addition, the installation saves a significant amount of floor space and allows for more parts to be stored within the same area. The freed-up space will be used to optimize the layout for larger products and to create an efficient buffer area for finished goods from our assembly department, a smart investment in space efficiency.

A step toward the future

By introducing the Kardex machines, Fancom takes the next step in automating and optimizing its internal logistics processes. This investment fits perfectly within our vision of continuous improvement and smarter working. For our customers and for our colleagues.

“The Kardex helps us work faster and more accurately, and makes the warehouse much more organized,” says the logistics team.
